Brad Leighton hit his stride in 1990 with a breakout season at Beech Ridge Speedway where he won the Limited Sportsman Championship.

He was the last ACT Pro Stock Champion in 1995, scoring 7 wins during the 17 race schedule. He had 10 career wins on the series.

He then moved on to the NASCAR Busch North Series, where he competed full time from 1996-2002 and part time from 2003-2009, racking up 24 victories and back-to-back series championships in 1999-2000. His rivalry with Dave Dion on the series was intense and packed grandstands everywhere.

He was one of the best at New Hampshire International Speedway, winning twice each in 1996, 1999 and 2002 and winning there once in 2000, 2001 and 2003. He was crowned NHIS Champion four times (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002).

Other New England tracks where Leighton has visited victory lane include Unity Speedway, Lee USA Speedway, Stafford Speedway, Waterford Speedbowl, Thunder Road Speedbowl, Thompson Speedway, Oxford Plains Speedway, Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH and the road course at Lime Rock Park in CT. Outside of New England, Brad’s also won at Watkins Glen, Holland Speedway, Shangri-La Speedway, Nazareth Speedway, Airborne Speedway and New Smyrna Speedway in FL. He also visited victory lane at Canadian tracks like Circuit Riverside and Kawartha.
