Peter Daniels
Peter Daniels entered the oval track scene in what many today would consider the old age of 26. Previously dabbling in drag racing, Daniels met up with Dana Patten & Mark Cole and began his career at Claremont Speedway in 1984 driving in the Street Stock division.
in 1986, he moved up to the Pro Stocks and earned Rookie of the Year honors. He would then dominate the division in the 1990’s winning 5 track championships (1993, 1994, 1996, 1998 and 1999). 1999 was especially memorable as he competed in the Modifieds as well and also won the track championship in that division as well. He won 2 more titles in the open wheel cars in 2001 and 2002.
2002 was the season Daniels was put on the national scene as he became the 2nd consecutive New England native to win the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Championship. Driving the modified owned by his brother Richard, he won 14 of the 18 races he entered at Claremont that season.
He ran the Modified Racing Series from 2004-2006, winning at Canaan Fair Speedway, Monadnock Speedway and White Mountain Motorsports Park. Early in his Pro Stock career, he also made starts on the NASCAR Busch Series (1991) and NASCAR Busch North Series (1991-1995).
