Rick Martin
Rick Martin was still active driver when he was inducted in 2024, coming off his 8th track championship at his home track Seekonk Speedway.
With over 110 wins at Seekonk, he is the track’s career wins leader. He scored 4 Pro Stock Championships (1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999) as a driver and another (Fred Astle in 2000) as a car owner. All but the 1991 season came in cars he built out of his Martin Race Cars shop in Westport, MA. The 1998-1999 seasons were especially triumphant as he also won back-to-back Pro Stock titles at Thompson Speedway as well.
His only career start on the NASCAR Busch North Series came at Seekonk in 1987 and he won the 150 lap race. He started last and took home the $10,000 winner’s purse. He also scored a New England Pro Stock win at White Mountain in 2000 and a pair of Pro All Star Series North wins at White Mountain (2004) and Riverside Speedway (2005).
He also enjoyed success in Seekonk’s Sport Truck division, winning another 4 championships (2010, 2022, 2023 and 2024). The 2010 truck was also a home-built ride out of his shop in Westport.
