George Monsen started out racing stock cars on dirt early in his career. He then switched to sprint cars, racing the URC circuit in 1960. He would finish 4th in the standing and earn Rookie of the Year honors.
He later moved onto the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) where he was a 5 time winner in his career.
George Monsen passed away on June 14, 1993 at the age of 64. He was inducted into the NEAR Hall of Fame in a special Pioneers induction ceremony in 2012.
