Anthony S. “Beebe” Zalenski was an Army veteran of WWII, who later worked as a diesel mechanic for Palmer Motor Coach. He then owned his own speed shop.

As a car owner, Beebe’s M-6 cars were driven by the best in the business. One of the highlights of his career came at Stafford Speedway in 1967 when Gene Bergin drove his car to the Modified Championship.

In the early 1990’s he built engines for Chris Kopec who would capture the 1994 Modified Championship at Riverside Park Speedway. In the early 2000’s, he was part of the Flamingo Motorsports modified race team.

Anthony Zalenski passed away on October 11, 2005 following a brief illness. He was inducted into the NEAR Hall of Fame in a special Pioneers induction ceremony in 2012.
