Bobby Seymour
Bobby Seymour’s career in racing started at the Marlboro Airport quarter-midget track driving for his father, Boston Louie Seymour. He would move on to the Northeast Midget Association in the 1980’s, winning the series title in 1987. He is to-date the last driver/owner to win the NEMA Championship. As a car owner, he was won over a hundred races with the likes of Ken Schrader, Jeff Abold, Bobby Santos III, Randy Cabral, Lou Ciccone Jr and Anthony Nocella behind the wheel.
As an expert chassis builder, Seymour founded Seymour Performance in 1991. Notable wins out of his shop include Anthony Nocella in the Rumble at Fort Wayne (IN) in 2014, the “Little 500” outside of Indy with Jake Trainor in 2023 and a Chili Bowl preliminary win with Hank Davis, also in 2023.
He has been an integral part of the annual Boston Louie Memorial NEMA race, held in honor of his father, since its inception in 1997. The Seymour stable has won the event 8 times with Jeff Abold, Anthony Nocella, P.J. Stergios and Jake Trainor, in addition to Bobby himself, over the years.
Seymour founded the Racers Expo trade show that was held in Marlboro, MA from 2011-2017. He has been recognized with the Evans/Thrall Award 5-times as the top owner driver in NEMA (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995) and was the 1999 Wen Kelley Award recipient for his dedication to the NEMA organization.
