Dan Pardi Memorial Award
FOR OUTSTANDING DEDICATION & CONTRIBUTIONS TO
THE SUCCESS OF THE NEAR HALL OF FAME
REMEMBERING DAN PARDI
by Pete Zanardi
He had maybe the quickest wit I’ve ever experienced. Nobody got to the heart of the matter quicker than Danny. His observations & decisions were direct and almost always uncomplicated. He did not tolerate excessiveness. He brought those qualities not only to his sport but to his relationships as well.
Pardi had been a competitor, an official at Stafford Speedway, a historian and major force in both NEAR and the Hall of Fame. He left behind a host of “Pardi-isms”. His spirit, his soul lives on in the hearts & minds of many of us.
Dan Pardi passed away suddenly in December of 2007. The NEAR Board of Directors immediately created the Dan Pardi Memorial Award to honor his memory and present each year to a recipient who contributed greatly to the success of the NEAR Hall of Fame.
