Veterans Committee Selection

Ed Patnode began racing at Riverside Park Speedway in 1949. He quickly got the hang of it, earning a Sportsman division championship in 1951. By the 1960’s he was winning championships in the modified class, first in 1964 and then again in 1968. He also won the Riverside Park 500 team race with Buddy Krebs in 1963.

Patnode often drove for car owner Leo Matte and frequently visited the old Rhythm Inn Speedway in Millers Falls, MA.

He was inducted into the NEAR Hall of Fame in a special Pioneers induction ceremony in 2012.
