Frank Simonetti was a pioneer in New England midget racing during the pre-WWII era when midget racing was the pinnacle of auto racing in the United States. Along with his brother Tommy, they were part of a talented group of New England drivers.

Frank was the inaugural series champion for the Bay State Midget Racing Association in 1940.

New England tracks where he visited victory lane during his career include Alumni Field, Dracut Speedway, Seekonk Speedway, Medford Bowl, Westboro Speedway, Norwood Arena, West Springfield Speedway, Lonsdale Sports Arena and Thompson Speedway.

Frank Simonetti passed away on July 28, 1988. He was 70 years old. He was inducted into the NEAR Hall of Fame in a special Pioneers induction ceremony in 2012.
