Johnny Georgiades raced throughout southern New England during his career at tracks like the Waterford Speedbowl, Cherry Park Speedway, Plainville Stadium and Riverside Park Speedway.

Nicknamed “The Flying Greek”, Johnny was the Sportsman Champion for Harvey Tattersall Jr‘s United Stock Car Racing Club circuit in 1957.

He moved to Plainville Stadium in the 1960’s, at one point winning 5 straight features.

After retiring from competition, Georgiades was involved in NEAR for many years. He was a 1999 recipient of the Charlie Stebbins Award for contributions above & beyond their duties.
