Mike Weeden is a Haverhill, MA native who started his racing career in the daredevil class at Hudson Speedway and the Pines Speedway. Soon he tried his hand at modifieds, first at Thompson and then throughout New England at tracks like Seekonk, Westboro, Monadnock, Stafford and Waterford.

He teamed up with Bob Ramstrom to win the 1977 Modified Championship at Westboro. He later won the track championship at Lee Raceway in 1981.

The expenses of running a competitive modified team made Weeden switch gears to pro stocks in the 1980’s. He even dabbled in the touring series of the time, have success with victories at Star Speedway on the NASCAR North Late Model Tour in 1985 and the Busch North Series in 1987.

He won Pro Stock Championships at Lee USA Speedway and Star Speedway in 1988. He was also crowned the Oxford Plains Speedway Open Champion in 1990.

The pinnacle of his career may come during the 1995 season, he won Pro Stock Championships at Lee USA Speedway, Star Speedway and Thompson Speedway with one racecar, one engine.

Mike was also well known as a fabricator, with more than 30 cars he built visiting victory lane over the years.
