Nat Chiavettone

Engine Builder
CLASS OF 2022

Nat Chiavettone is an ageless, unassuming perfectionist who is also down-to-earth, modest and unpretentious. Walking into his shop you will see no trophies, plaques on the wall or accolades of any kind; just a floor so clean you could eeat off it and a plethora of machines gleaming in the reflection of the flourescent lights above ready to make horsepower.

Nat has built racing engines for almost every kind of racecar in New England: Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman, Trucks that compete on local level. He also provided power to teams competing on the NASCAR Modified Tour, Busch North Series and the old Pro Truck series, not to mention the countless drag racers, road racers and street-legal hot rods.

Well into his 80’s, Nat would still be found roaming the pits on race day, lending support to his customers and trying to get every last bit of horsepower out of each engine.

Nat Chiavettone was a genuine guy who truly cared about New England racing, the sport as a whole, its competitors and its future. His low-key demeanor made him easy to talk to and his humble approach to the sport was one we should all strive to emulate.
