Rick Fuller of Auburn, MA had a 30 year career as one of the best in New England modified racing. He won his first championship in 1980 as a 19 year-old teenager in the Street Stock division at Westboro Speedway. In 1984, he was the SNYRA Modified Champion at Thompson Speedway. Then in 1985, he won the SK Modified Championship at Waterford Speedbowl driving for Ted Marsh.
Fuller was consistent winner on the NASCAR Modified Tour. In the 18 seasons from 1988 to 2005, he finished in the Top 10 all but one season. Rick won the series title in 1993 driving for Curt Chase, the season after his brother Jeff won the championship. He has 30 career wins on the series, including 3 Thompson Ice Breakers (1991, 1997, 2001), 2 Thompson World Series (1988, 1999) and the 1992 Thompson 300. He was a 3-time Spring Sizzler winner at Stafford Speedway (1992, 1999, 2000).
Fuller also had 17 wins at the New Smyrna Speedway World Series during the 1990’s, including the 1992 & 1996 Richie Evans Memorial 100.
Rick has won over 90 races on New England short tracks during his career. He’s also won at Riverside Park Speedway in MA and Monadnock & Lee USA speedways in NH. He’s also won at Richmond Raceway (VA), Lancaster Speedway and Riverhead Raceway (NY).
He last visited victory lane in a Super Late Model race at Thompson in 2009.
