Ron Bouchard Memorial Award
FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT NEW ENGLAND AUTO RACING
CONTRIBUTING TO THE GROWTH OF OUR SPORT
“When they speak about Ronnie, they speak of his people skills” said Paula Bouchard about her late husband at the 2019 Hall of Fame ceremony. “In his racing career, he did his best to make time for every person who stopped to chat, whether it was an old friend in the pits or a young fan he was meeting for the first time. He understood the personal touch and giving each person the proper attention.” After Ron Bouchard passed away in December 2015, this memorial award was created to keep his memory and his positive approach to the sport of auto racing alive.
Chosen each year for an individual whose contributions to auto racing in New England have made a lasting impression, a positive impact and contribute greatly to the growth of our sport. It is presented each year at the NEAR Hall of Fame ceremony by Ron’s widow Paula Bouchard and her brother Ed Flemke Jr.
