Ted Marsh

Car Owner
CLASS OF 2023

Ted Marsh’s involvement in racing spanned nearly 50 years through several disciplines and with many of New England’s finest drivers. He began in 1969 shortly after graduating college and briefly dabbled in drag racing before moving on to modifieds.

Two years later he teamed up with Billy Harman to race the NASCAR circuit where they finished 6th for the NASCAR Modified National Championship in 1971. He then returned to the short tracks of southern New England with drivers like Jerry Dostie, Rick Fuller and Ken Bouchard. With Fuller, he won the 1985 SK Modified Championship at the Waterford Speedbowl.

He later fielded cars on the Busch Grand National (now Xfinity) Series with Steve Park and then Andy Santerre over four seasons. He won NASCAR Busch North Series events at New Hampshire Speedway, Nazareth Speedway and Watkins Glen with Ted Christopher behind the wheel.

He also paired up with Sonny Whelen to win back-to-back national championships in the Viper Racing League. Others who have piloted Marsh’s cars include Boris Said, Eric Curran and Ryan Preece. He retired as an active car owner in 2017, though he continued as an advisor to several teams.
