Bentley Warren was born in Kennebunkport, ME and won his first race at the old West Peabody (MA) Speedway in 1957 when he was only 16 years old.
He captured numerous track championships throughout the northeast. His first titles came in 1962 when he won the Class B Championships at both Pines Speedway and Hudson Speedway. Over his long career his won championships at Star Speedway and Oswego Speedway in New York (1983-1984, 1986-1987, 1989-1990, 1993). He was the ISMA series champion 4 times (1984, 1988-1990) and runner-up 3 more times (1976, 1985, 1994). He also won a New England Super Modified Racing Association series championship.
Bentley went Champ Car racing from 1970-1975. He scored several Top 10’s and was a two-time Indianapolis 500 starter (1971, 1975).
Bentley Warren is among New England’s most accomplished racers. A legendary super modified racer, he has won the Star Speedway Classic six times (1976, 1984, 1989-1990, 1993-1994) and the Oswego Classic in NY six times (1969, 1984, 1986, 1989-1990, 1998). Bentley also won the Little 500 USAC champ car race twice (1995-1997) out in Indianapolis the night before the Indy 500.
Some of the other tracks where Bentley Warren visited victory lane include Thompson, Stafford, Fulton, Cayuga, Delaware and Westboro Speedway. Known for his super modified career, Bentley also raced late models on the old NASCAR North Tour, modifieds and USAC champ cars.
