For 45 years, his cramped single car home garage became the work place where an unassuming under-financed machinist mastered one of the greatest careers in New England racing history.

“Victory Vic” has excelled over five decades with a litany of accomplishments rating among the finest and most respected in short-track racing.

He was crew chief for fellow Hall of Famer Ollie Silva from 1969-1974. Silva was car owner & driver, while Miller was the crew chief. They built their cars together and travelled often to races across the country. Miller estimates that one season they ran 89 races. In 1973, the competed in seven 100-lap races in a 9-day span at tracks throughout California.

Craving to incorporate more on his own ideas, Miller started fielding his own cars for the 1975 season. Over the years, his cars won from Florida to New Brunswick, California to Maine winning on over 32 different tracks. Among his major victories, Miller’s cars have won 8 World Series at Thompson Speedway; 7 Star Speedway Classics; 5 Super National Championships at Oswego; The “Florida 200” in Tampa, Florida; the Gold Coast Classic Series in California; the “Firecracker 10,000” at Hudson adding up to an estimated 200 victories. He won the track championship at Lee USA Speedway in 1991 with Nate Boutwell driving his super modified.

In addition to Silva, others who piloted his cars included Don MacLaren, Eddie West and Bentley Warren. In 1995, Chris Perley became his driver and by the early 2000’s. they became a dominant force on the ISMA circuit. From 2002 to 2009, they never finished worse than 2nd in the final point standings, including back-to-back championships in 2003-2004 and 4 straight titles from 2006-2009.

3 years after his Hall of Fame induction, Miller won another ISMA series championship with Lou Ciccone Jr as his driver.
