Andy Cote was just 16 years old when he was named Mechanic of the Year by Hastings Piston Rings. After serving in the Marines, he began building racecars.

His first championship came with Tony Colicchio driving for him at Guilford Bowl in 1955. Then titles at Hudson Speedway and The Pines with Porky Kinsman in 1956, Hal Wilcox in 1957 and Ollie Silva in 1958.

Cote won with Silva in 1959-1960 at Dover, Westboro, West Peabody and Montreal’s Riverside Speedway before Chrysler hired him to build a car for Gilles Brochu, which won at Dover.

He dominated the state of Vermont in the 1960’s with a potent trio of drivers. Colicchio drove the 0, Ronnie Marvin drove his #13 car and Paul Martel piloted his 3J car. Collectively the won often at Thunder Road Speedbowl, Northeastern Speedway and Dog River Speedway in Northfield, VT.
