Jim McCallum began racing in the 1960’s and soon found success. He was the 1969 Sportsman Champion at Stafford Speedway. He earned back-to-back Grand American Late Model Championships at Westboro Speedway in 1971-1972.

As the 1980’s arrived, more and more New England tracks were adding Pro Stocks to their weekly division lineups and McCallum excelled as not only a driver but car builder in the division. He would go on to earn the 1985 Pro Stock Championships at both Riverside Park Speedway and Thompson Speedway, the 1984 & 1986 titles at Monadnock Speedway and later the 1991 championship at Stafford Speedway

With over 80 career victories to his credit, McCallum also won races at Hudson & Lee USA speedways in New Hampshire, Norwood Arena & Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts, the Waterford Speedbowl in Connecticut and Speedway 95, Unity, Wiscasset & Spud speedways in Maine.

He competed on a variety of regional tours as well: NASCAR North Late Model Tour, ACT Pro Stock Tour, NASCAR Busch North Series, Northeast Pro Stock Association, International Pro Stock Challenge and PASS North.

Not only was McCallum one of the most accomplished Pro Stock drivers in New England, he also was a respected car builder as well.

Jim McCallum passed way on September 20, 2013 at the age of 69 after a long illness.
