John Falconi
Car Owner, Track Owner, Promoter
CLASS OF 2007
John Falconi helped field cars for legends like Joe Ross, Billy Tibbert & Fred Borden and later Reino Tulonen & Joe Cast. He had great success with Borden in 1962 when they lead both Brookline (NH) and Westboro (MA) speedways in wins driving a Morton Welch flathead coupe. Borden won 28 of the 32 races he entered.
Falconi won 6 straight Class A Championships at Westboro Speedway (1962-1967) as a car owner. All but one came with Fred Borden as his driver. The 1964 championship came with Reino Tulonen behind the wheel.
Falconi also took his cars to compete at tracks like Bryar Motorsports Park, Thompson Speedway, West Peabody Speedway, Medford Speedway, Norwood Arena, Waterford Speedbowl and Hudson Speedway.
He became involved as a promoter at Westboro, Brookline and Thompson. Thompson’s World Series was among his innovations. He backed away for a while but returned to promote Westboro, which he owned, in ’65 and remained there until the track’s sale in the mid 80s.
