Northeast Pro Stock Association
The Northeast Pro Stock Association was formed in 1996. A group of interested parties met in February 1996 in Oxford, ME and was chaired by Pro Stock competitor and Unity Raceway owner Ralph Nason and Oxford Plains Speedway’s marketing director Bob Walker. It was a competitor to Tom Curley‘s American-Canadian Tour, which folded it’s Pro Stock division after the 1996 season.
It lasted for 5 full seasons from 1996-2000 and at times attracted some of the best Pro Stock races of the era. It also sanctioned the 1997 Oxford 250 during what was arguably the organizations most successful season.
Ralph Nason was the most accomplished driver in NEPSA’s history. He was the only 2-time series champion as well as the career wins leader (20). During the 1997 season Nason had 7 wins in 11 starts. Mike Rowe won the 1999 series championship with his son Ben capturing the title the following season.
