Pete Silva from Waterville, ME first began racing in 1970. He would race over over 35 years, at over 45 tracks.

He competed full time on the NASCAR Busch Grand National (now Xfinity) Series in 1982-1983, scoring 11 top 5’s and 22 top 10’s. He finished 7th in the championship standings both season.

Racing in NASCAR’s old Late Model Sportsman class, Silva won the Firecracker 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway in July of 1980. He also won the Bobby Isaac Memorial 300 at Hickory in 1981 and back-to-back Miller 200 victories at New Asheville Speedway.

In 1988, he scored 2 wins on the NASCAR Busch North Series – at Monadnock Speedway in NH and Shangri-La Speedway in NY. He was also the Blue Ridge Regional Champion in NASCAR’s Winston Racing Series program.

Pete Silva earned the 1998 & 2001 Late Model championships at Greensville-Pickens Speedway and the 2002 Late Model Champion at Hickory Motor Speedway. He was inducted into the Unity Raceway Hall of Fame in 1982.
