Dick Glines

Born in Jackson, NH on May 31, 1942, Dick Glines excelled as a driver, a crew chief and an expert chassis builder over his long career in auto racing.

As a driver, Glines had 6 career Open Competition wins at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine, include 3 in 1979 which led to him being crowned the track’s Open Competition Champion.

During his racing career, Glines also won at Speedway 95 & Arundel Speedway in Maine, and the old Bryar Motorsports Park in New Hampshire.

As a crew chief, he won 2 NASCAR North Late Model Tour Championships (1983-1984) & 3 ACT Pro Stock Championships (1986-1988) with Robbie Crouch and a NASCAR Busch North Series Championship with Jamie Aube in 1990.

Glines’ chassis business, NRP Race Cars, had a dominant run in the 1990’s. Dick McCabe (1993), Kelly Moore (1995), Dave Dion (1996), Mike Stefanik (1997-1998) and Brad Leighton (1999-2000) all won NASCAR Busch North Series championships using NRP chassis. Steve Prescott also won back-to-back Pro Truck Tour championships in 1998-1999 with an NRP chassis.

Dick was additionally inducted into the Maine Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2022. He passed away peacefully at age 82 on June 25, 2024.
