Dave Grantz
Competitor
CLASS OF 2021
A terror aboard his gorgeous coupe-bodied cars, Dave Grantz was one of the most successful driver in his era, as well as one of the most popular. He began building his own cars as a teenager in 1958 and first got behind the wheel of his own creations in 1963.
He was dominant on the URDC circuit at Hudson Speedway and The Pines – sweeping both track championships in 1966, 1967 and 1969.
He was the face of the new Sportsman division in 1973, winning a staggering 16 times between Monadnock and Claremont that year. In 1976, he was the Monadnock champion and won a dozen features. Rare was the year when he won less than a half-dozen times yet he remained in the favor of the fans with his classy attitude.
Dave Grantz passed away on August 4, 2023 at the age of 82.
