Eddie Flemke Jr

Competitor, Crew Chief, Car Builder
CLASS OF 2019

Although not technically a junior, but known as such to delineate from his legendary father, Ed Flemke Jr began racing in 1973 as an 18 year old at Riverside Park Speedway in Agawam, MA. By the late 1970’s, he concentrated more on building race cars and being a crew chief for his dad, including during the elder’s wins at Stafford’s Labor Day 200 and the Thompson 300 (both in 1977).

As a driver, it wasn’t until 1985 at the Waterford Speedbowl when Eddie scored his first feature win in the Winston 100 – the first ever 100 lap race for the SK Modifieds.

After a handful of SK Modified wins at Waterford and Stafford Speedway during 1985-1987, Flemke began racing regularly on the NASCAR Modified Tour in 1988. He would win 17 races and 16 pole awards during his 25 years competing full-time in the series. He was runner-up to the championship in 2004 and 2006.

Flemke has won multiple NASCAR Modified races at all 3 Connecticut oval tracks (Stafford, Thompson, Waterford) including the Thompson 300 in 2004. Flemke also won at other New England tracks like Lee USA Speedway in NH and Riverside Park Speedway & Seekonk Speedway in MA. He also scored victories at Nazareth Speedway (PA), Riverhead Speedway (NY), Flemington Speedway (NJ) and at New Smyrna Speedway in FL.

Flemke and his father built cars for over 70 drivers in the northeast over the years.
