One of dirt racing’s most respected car owners and engine builders, Ken Tremont’s #115 cars became iconic over his decades career in racing.
His first win in Vermont came in 1967 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with Roger Gauthier as his driver. He would win the 1970 track championship there in 1970 with Joe Messina behind the wheel, then won a track title at Albany-Saratoga with Chuck Ely driving in 1977.
When his son, Kenny Tremont Jr began driving for him, they became one of the best race teams in Devil Bowl history. They earned 10 track championships in total: 7 on the 1/2 mile dirt surface (1984, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2018, 2019), 2 on the 3/10 mile dirt track (2015, 2017) and 1 on the 1/2 asphalt track in 2010. They also earned the 2017 & 2018 NASCAR Vermont State Championships together.
Tremont also has wins on both dirt & asphalt at Canaan, NH and is credited with over 100 wins and 13 championships in New England during his career. Ken’s #115 cars driven by Kenny Jr also earned then the most championships and feature wins at Lebanon Valley Speedway in NY.
Ken Tremont was also inducted into the Eastern Motorsports Press Association (EMPA) Hall of Fame in 2013
